One of our main goals? Let’s crank up those serotonin levels! Known as the “feel-good” chemical, serotonin is key to keeping our mood, sleep, appetite, and cognitive functions in check. When our serotonin is balanced, we feel happier, calmer, and more focused. But when it dips, we might experience feelings of anxiety or a general lack of well-being. Yikes!

That’s where yoga comes in! This practice is a powerhouse for both mind and body. While our genetics play a role in our serotonin levels, we can definitely take charge of our happiness! Engaging in practices like yoga, exercising, soaking up some sunshine, and eating right can naturally boost those serotonin levels. For example, regular exercise helps make more tryptophan (a building block for serotonin), and getting outside triggers serotonin production in our brains.
